Built: 1868
Windows: H503 Series Arch Head Single Hung Window
Nestled on the corner of St. Antoine Street in Detroit, Michigan, the old St. Mary’s School, in the neighborhood of Greektown Detroit, underwent a historical reinvention as the headquarters for JACK Entertainment. The 5-story structure, built shortly after the Civil War’s end, served not only as a school, but also as an orphanage. Additionally, it was also a residence for Catholic sisters. In 1966 the school closed, and it became St. Mary’s Community Center.
After sitting empty for nearly 10 years, the former orphanage, school, and community center, received beautifully updated H503 Series arch-head single hung windows from Quaker Windows & Doors, which pay homage to the historical look of the building, while offering the comfort and convenience of modern energy efficiency.
The structure has since been recognized as an official historic site by the state of Michigan.
Special thanks to Quaker Windows & Doors authorized dealer Blackberry Systems for sharing this project with us.
